Posh Muckerz® coveralls define posh, practical and pretty.
We were determined not to cut corners on quality. That is why we have used only the best waterproof softshell outer fabrics, breathable linings and trims for our coveralls and a specialist British manufacturer to produce them to Posh Muckerz®' exacting standards.
We wanted to create coveralls that looked fabulous, but would also be fully waterproof, comfortable and hard wearing to withstand the elements and cope with the rigorous daily work outs that our customers would put them through.
Posh Muckerz® coveralls are proudly made in Great Britain using high quality waterproof, windproof, breathable and dirt repellent fabrics. They are machine-washable at 30 degrees centigrade.
The coveralls have elasticated inner wrist cuffs and adjustable press stud fastenings at the wrists and ankles. There are no velcro fastenings anywhere (hay and dirt magnets!).
A deep collar keeps your neck warm and a zip fastening right up to the chin and taped seams throughout keep the elements out.
All the taped seams on our coveralls (over 23 linear metres in total) have been professionally waterproof tested.
Posh Muckerz® is a Registered Trademark and our coveralls are a Registered Design.
Our Posh Muckerz® coveralls have luxury suede seat and leg patches for extra grip in the saddle. There are zips at the ankles so that wellies and riding boots can be easily slipped on and off.
The coveralls have discrete reflective piping trim on the chest, back, arms and legs for visibility and safety in the winter months.
There are numerous zipped pockets in our Posh Muckerz® coveralls for securely storing keys, mobile phones etc. All the zips and pocket linings are waterproof and the storm placket to the main zip gives added protection against the elements.
There is also a waterproof adjustable hood which is roomy enough to fit over a bobble hat or riding hat. The hood can be folded away into the collar or detached completely when not needed.
Our coveralls are specifically tailored for ladies, with an elasticated waistline and side panels in contrast colour ways for a slimmer silhouette.
Posh Muckerz® coveralls are generously cut across the back and shoulders and have longer arms to ensure optimum comfort when both working and riding out.
Expert pattern cutters and graders created the shape and sizing for our coveralls so that they are fitted and flattering to wear but also sufficiently roomy to allow clothes layering underneath on colder days.
We also used industry experts to source all our waterproof outer fabrics, linings and trims so that Posh Muckerz® coveralls are both pretty and practical to wear.
Many brands advertise that their outerwear is 'weatherproof', ‘shower-proof’, ‘water-repellent’ or ‘water-resistant’. This does not mean that the clothing is fully waterproof.
The British Standard is that fabric should achieve a waterproof rating of at least 1,500 mmH2O in a Hydrostatic Head Test for a garment to be classed as 'waterproof'. This means that the fabric should be capable of withstanding 1.5 metres of water over 24 hours before the water soaks through the fabric.
The windproof and breathable softshell outer fabric of Posh Muckerz® coveralls has a waterproof rating of 5,000+ mmH2O, meaning our fabric is 'very waterproof' (at least three times more waterproof than the minimum British Standard) and is capable of withstanding 5 metres of water over 24 hours before the water soaks through the fabric. In addition, all seams on Posh Muckerz® coveralls are taped (there are over 23 linear metres of taped seams) and our coveralls even have waterproof zips and pocket linings, meaning that you will stay comfortable, warm and dry whatever the weather.
By way of comparison, some other ladies outdoor coveralls are made using fabric with a Hydrostatic Head Test rating of less than 1,500 mmH2O, which means they do not meet the minimum British Standard to be classed as 'waterproof'.
For example, coveralls which are made using Ventile® cotton fabric fall into this category as Ventile® has a reported Hydrostatic Head Test rating of less than 1,000 mmH2O. Retailers may avoid this technicality by referring to their garments as being 'water-repellent', 'shower-proof', 'rainproof', 'water-resistant' or 'weatherproof'.
As our coveralls are 'all-in-one' there is also no risk of water ingression, as can be the case with separate jackets and over-trousers or 'zip together' 2-into-1 coveralls (where the connecting zips may also not be waterproof).
We take waterproofing so seriously that our coveralls have even been waterproof-tested with industrial power hoses!
So, although Posh Muckerz® coveralls are an investment, they still represent sound value for money when compared with purchasing separate jackets and over-trousers or 'zip together' 2-into-1 coveralls, which may not be fully waterproof.
